WCRA Mission
The Woodford County Repeater Association (WCRA) owns and operates a 2
meter repeater on the northern edge of the Village of Metamora in Woodford County, Illinois. WRCA is dedicated to public service and works
closely with the Woodford County Emergency Management Agency.
Repeater
The repeater
is open and available to all licensed amateur radio operators on a frequency
of 147.255 MHz with an offset of +0.600 MHz. Currently the repeater only has a TX PL
of
103.5. A
RX PL
will be implemented 15 April 2007
to comply
with the Illinois Repeater Association requirements.
The repeater is a self-contained Yaesu VRX-7000. The RX antenna is a Cushcraft
G6-144A at 139 feet. The TX antenna
is a Cushcraft G6-144A upside down at 89 feet. This arrangement is temporary until Spring when we
again plan to both transmit and receive from a new antenna at the very top of our tower. The tower is 150 feet of Rohn
45G and belongs to the WCRA. Metamora Township graciously donates space for
our repeater hardware in a heated and air conditioned environment.
Weekly RACES Net
WCRA holds a net each Tuesday at 2100 hrs local time (0300 GMT) and
is open to all licensed amateur radio operators.
